Tim Harford
Cofounder and President
A native of Baltimore, Tim began his career with a goal to be the youngest Master Electrician in the State of Maryland. Through Tim’s hard work and commitment, he took every possible continuing education course offered through his first employer to achieve his goal. In 1982, at the age of 22, he passed and earned his Master Electrician certification, falling just 30 days short of being the youngest. While his goal was not quite attained, Tim was, and still is today, the second youngest person to ever become a Master Electrician in Maryland. He will employ this same drive and determination to your electrical project.
The following year he cofounded Larkin Electric. Tim continues to employ his hard work and commitment to bring unique and distinctive solutions to his clients in the Baltimore area.
Joe Donohue
Cofounder/Vice President
Joe started in the Electrical business while still in high school, and continued his profession right after graduation. Joe earned his Master Electrician Certification while working for several electrical companies, including his cousin’s company, Larkin Electric. When his cousin, Jeffrey David Larkin, passed away unexpectedly, Joe and Tim wanted to continue the company to honor Joe’s cousin and to honor his wife and children. They knew that his legacy had to live on; hence, they cofounded, JDL Electric in 1983. Joe continues to study and keep current on new trends in the electrical industry, offering his knowledge, his years of experience, and a superior level of service to his clients and employees.
Josh Wright
Project Manager
Josh Wright is a native West Virginian and has been a dedicated member of the JDL team for 12 years. He started his career in the electrical field as an apprentice in 2008 for JDL. In 2012, Josh graduated second in his apprenticeship class and got his journeyman’s license that very year. His next goal was to obtain his state master license and he accomplished his goal in 2015. He brings the willingness and drive to do what it takes to get the project done.
Steve Gaisior
Project Manager
A native of Arbutus, Steve started working in the Electrical field while still in high school and continued directly after graduation in 1978. Ten years later, he joined Larkin Electric, working with both Tim and Joe. When Jeff Larkin passed away, Steve worked with another local company, becoming a project manager. He returned to JDL in 1995, to work with his former colleagues and for the variety of clients he serves at JDL. As a project manager, he has the opportunity to develop creative, cost-effective, and stunning electrical/lighting solutions.
Alison Donohue
Office Manager
Alison started with JDL May 2023 and is an office management professional with over 40 years of industry experience. She oversees the daily operations of the office. Alison is responsible for ensuring that financial objectives are met. Alison maintains daily bookkeeping to ensure efficiency and organization of all company files, procedures, A/R customer billing, collections, bank deposits and all customer related issues. She is married with 4 children and resides in Pasadena, Maryland.
Carla Lyell Murphy
Assistant Office Manager
Carla started at JDL in 2011 through an employment agency. She became a full-time JDL employee in 2012. Carla has a background in human resources and also worked as a legal secretary in the past. As assistant office manager, she is responsible for payroll, accounts payables and assists in daily human resources operations. She is a married Baltimore native, mother of four sons and grandmother of one grandson. She still resides in Baltimore with her husband and two younger sons.
David Kemmer
Service Manager
Dave has been a key member of the JDL team since its inception in 1993. Dave has handled many high profile and fast paced projects over the years. Dave has both the experience and the knowledge to take care of your specific service needs.
Mark Loss
Purchasing Agent / Warehouse Manager
Mark has been in the electrical industry for over 30 years. Most of them working on the Distribution side of the industry. Starting out in an entry level warehouse position leading into management positions. Mark joined the JDL Team in 2006. Mark handles the daily material purchasing and managing of our warehouse.
During his years in this industry he worked alongside many of the Distribution associates JDL deals with on a daily basis. This relationship gives our company another way to help promote efficient and professional relationships with them. This relationship allows JDL to better service our customer’s specific needs.
Mark has been married for more than 26 years and has three daughters, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mark resides in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
