St. John’s Properties: Taking the LEED
In 2008-2009, St. Johns Properties made a commitment to energy sustainability, and to construct LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified buildings. LEED is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To achieve LEED certification, building projects must satisfy a host of strict prerequisites and submit proof in documentation. St. Johns Properties contracted with JDL to embark on their first LEED project, located at 16901 Melford Blvd.. The multi-story office building qualified for LEED certification because of JDL’s attention to detail, superior skill in working with sustainability projects, and ability to properly document according to LEED standards. Since 2008, St. John has constructed 31 LEED certified buildings.
